IMPORTANCE OF WOMEN'S EDUCATION

In Kenya many students are not able to attend school due to a lack of government funding. In rural areas of Kenya, such as Taita-Taveta, a family's income may be as little as $2 a day while yearly tuition is approximately $1000. When a family can afford to send a child to school, they are much more likely to send a son over a daughter. This is why our focus is on expanding women's access to education in rural Kenya.
